Filmmaker Kiran Rao's latest movie 'Laapataa Ladies' has achieved significant success on Netflix surpassing Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 'Animal' in viewership.
Within just a month of its release 'Laapataa Ladies' garnered 13.8 million views compared to the 13.6 million views 'Animal' accumulated over four months. Kiran Rao shared her delight about this success on Instagram.
'Laapataa Ladies' directed by Rao is an adaptation of Biplab Goswami’s novel and stars Sparsh Shrivastava, Pratibha Rantta, Nitanshi Goel, Ravi Kishan and Chhaya Kadam. In contrast 'Animal' featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri has not matched its success.
This milestone highlights the impact of strong storytelling and excellent performances establishing Kiran Rao as a prominent filmmaker. As 'Laapataa Ladies' continues to captivate a global audience it sets a new standard for cinematic excellence.
It is known that there was some online tiff between Kiran Rao and Sundeep Vanga over misogyny in latter's films. But now Kiran Rao beats Sundeep Vanga in viewership. We need to see what is there to say for Vanga.
