Kesari 2: Akshay Kumar Pokes King Charles Of Britian

At the press conference for Kesari 2, the mood was deeply patriotic. Producer Karan Johar spoke passionately about the film’s theme, while lead actor Akshay Kumar shared his personal connection to the story, rooted in family memories of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Akshay revealed that his grandfather had witnessed the massacre, passing the story down through generations. Calling the film close to his heart, Akshay said the history stayed with him since childhood. He also praised director Karan Tyagi and thanked Karan Johar for the opportunity to portray C. Sankaran Nair, a forgotten hero who legally challenged the British over the atrocity.

Akshay expressed a strong wish for the British monarchy to watch the film and acknowledge past wrongs. On the film receiving an A certificate, both he and Johar respected the CBFC’s decision, confirming there were no cuts. Kesari 2 also stars Ananya Panday and R Madhavan, and releases on April 18.
