Karthi Injured on Sardar 2 Sets, Shoot Halted

Tamil actor Karthi suffered a leg injury while filming Sardar 2 in Mysuru. He was immediately taken to a hospital, where doctors advised a week of rest. Due to this, the film’s production was paused, and the team returned to Chennai. The shoot will resume once Karthi recovers. The actor has yet to provide a health update.

Sardar 2, directed by PS Mithran, features Karthi in dual roles. The film, nearly 80% complete, was expected to wrap up soon but faced delays due to Karthi’s injury and a tragic accident in July 2024, when stuntman Ezhumalai lost his life during a stunt sequence.

The highly anticipated sequel includes Rajisha Vijayan, SJ Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, and Ashika Ranganath in key roles. The first Sardar (2022) received positive reviews. While the sequel's release date remains unannounced, production is expected to resume soon.
