Kanwaljit Singh Opens Up About Sarika

Senior actor Kanwaljit Singh, who has been receiving praise for his performance in the movie Mrs., recently shared an interesting incident from his past in an interview. Reflecting on his time in the 1985 TV serial Chhatte Chhatte, Kanwaljit mentioned how his co-star Sarika had to leave the shoot unexpectedly. He explained, "Sarika was paired with me for the serial, but during the shooting, she fell in love with a person in Madras. She left in the middle of the shoot for him and never returned."

He continued, "In a way, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Sarika's exit led to the casting of actress Anuradha Patel, who became my new co-star. We got really close during the shoot and eventually got married."

Kanwaljit also shared that Sarika had left the serial specifically for Kamal Haasan. At the time, she was already separated from her first husband, Vani Ganapathi, whom she had married in 1984 and divorced soon after.

As for Sarika and Kamal Haasan, they got married in 1988 and had two daughters, Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan. However, their relationship did not last long, and they divorced in 2004. Following the divorce, Kamal Haasan was in a relationship with actress Gautami, but they chose to live together without marrying. They remained together from 2005 to 2016 before breaking up.
