Actress turned politician Kangana Ranaut is facing legal trouble for sharing a morphed image of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on social media. The altered photo depicted Gandhi wearing a skull cap, a cross and a tilak and was accompanied by a disparaging comment about his stance on the caste census.
This action has led senior Supreme Court lawyer Narendra Mishra to file a Rs 40 crore defamation case against her. Mishra argues that morphing and sharing someone's image without permission violates the IT Act and tarnishes Gandhi’s reputation. He has also requested the expulsion of Kangana from the BJP and compensation for the damage caused.
Recently, Kangana further stirred controversy by publicly suggesting that Rahul Gandhi should undergo a drug test criticizing his comments in Parliament. This remark also faced significant backlash from netizens.
