Kalki 2898 AD Sequel Awaits Star's Return

Kalki 2898 AD Sequel Awaits Star's Return

Deepika Padukone’s Kalki 2898 AD broke box office records, surpassing Rs 1,000 crore. Following its success the film’s makers are now developing a sequel. However production on Padukone’s scenes will be postponed as she is currently on maternity leave focusing fully on her newborn daughter, Dua.

A recent report indicates that Padukone, choosing to be a hands-on mother has opted not to hire a nanny sharing parenting duties with her husband Ranveer Singh. Despite offers to modify her role the producers of Kalki 2898 AD decided against excluding her character viewing her presence as essential to the franchise.

Filming has begun with some of Padukone’s scenes already shot but the team is prepared to wait for her return to complete her role. The sequel also stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles ensuring an impressive ensemble cast.
