Janhvi Kapoor, known for her candidness about personal and professional challenges, recently addressed allegations that actors pay for positive PR.
The actress clarified that she doesn't have the financial resources to pay people to compliment her on social media.
Janhvi, who will star in the upcoming film "Ulajh," set to release on August 2, shared that when she receives praise online, it is often dismissed as the work of PR machinery.
In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Janhvi said, “Whenever someone compliments me on social media, trolls often say, 'This must be PR.' But I don't have the budget to pay people to praise me.”
Previously, in a chat with Karan Johar on the official YouTube page of Dharma Productions,
Janhvi discussed how being trolled is a “privileged problem.”
She explained, “I've been dealing with it for as long as I can remember. It's not healthy, but I haven't allowed myself to feel bad about it because I think other people have it worse. It seems insincere to complain about being trolled when it doesn't feel like a real problem compared to what others face. It's a privileged issue.”
In the same Pinkvilla interview, Janhvi also praised her "Devara" co-star Jr NTR for his exceptional dancing skills.
She remarked, “The speed at which he picks up dance steps is incredible. While I struggle for 10 days, he learns it in just one second.”
"Devara," which marks Janhvi's debut in South Indian cinema, is set to release on October 10 this year.
Janhvi Kapoor's upcoming film "Ulajh," directed by Sudhanshu Saria, also features Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, and Meiyang Chang in key roles.
