The much-anticipated pan-India project *Indian 2*, starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role, was released grandly across multiple Indian languages, including Tamil and Telugu, on July 12. Directed by Shankar, the franchise has already teased the arrival of *Indian 3*. Shankar had previously revealed that both *Indian 2* and *Indian 3* were shot simultaneously. Now, the buzz around *Indian 3* has taken center stage online.
However, recent reports suggest that the chances of *Indian 3* releasing in theaters are slim. Speculation is rife within industry circles that the makers are planning to release the film directly on an OTT platform.
The primary reason for this decision seems to be the box office performance of *Indian 2*, which, despite high expectations, did not perform as well as hoped. Selling the theatrical rights for *Indian 3* has reportedly become a challenge, prompting the makers to consider a direct digital release.
Fans are now eagerly awaiting an official statement from the makers to clarify the future of *Indian 3*.
