I Completely Surrendered to Him

Taking on challenging roles is not easy for actors, especially for heroines, as they rarely get strong and unique characters. Rashmika believes that when such roles come along, they should not be rejected and must be performed exactly as the director envisions.

"The role I got in Chaava was not an ordinary one; it had a historical background. On top of that, I don’t know Hindi well. So, I completely surrendered to the director and did exactly what he told me. If the audience loves my role, all credit goes to him."

Rashmika advises that when faced with demanding roles, it’s best to trust the director entirely. In Chaava, she plays the historical character of Yesubai.

A Physically Demanding Role

For authenticity, she wore real gold jewelry weighing several kilos, along with heavy sarees, making it physically exhausting.

"Once my makeup was done, I couldn't even go to the bathroom because everything would get ruined. I even avoided drinking water after makeup to ensure I could shoot without interruptions."

Despite the challenges, Rashmika feels that such roles are worth the effort, as they push an actor’s limits and enhance their skills.
