Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty has finally received a clean chit. The CBI has closed the case filed against her in connection with actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Reports suggest that the agency has submitted its closure report to the court.
Five years ago, in 2020, Sushant Singh was found dead in his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai. By then, Sushant and Rhea Chakraborty had already broken up.
However, in 2021, Sushant’s father filed a case against Rhea and her family, alleging that she was responsible for his son’s death. That same year, Rhea also filed a case against Sushant’s sister and a doctor. The CBI has now closed both cases, submitting a closure report to a special court in Mumbai.
After Sushant's death, the case took multiple turns, exposing a drug angle and money laundering allegations. This led to investigations by the Narcotics Bureau and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
As part of the probe, Rhea Chakraborty was questioned by various investigating agencies and had to spend 27 days in jail before being released on bail. Now, with the CBI officially closing the case, she has finally been cleared of all charges.
