Filmmaker Arrested In Temple Prasadam Row

Tamil filmmaker Mohan G has been arrested by the Trichy District Cybercrime Police for allegedly making controversial remarks about Panchamirtham a sacred offering at the Pazhani temple in Tamil Nadu. He was apprehended in Chennai and will be taken to Trichy for further investigation. 

Mohan G reportedly claimed that the Panchamirtham contained contraceptive medicines, which sparked outrage on social media and among the public. The Tamil Nadu government took action, leading to his arrest without prior notice, according to the BJP President in Chennai. The filmmaker’s family was not informed, raising concerns about legal procedures. Mohan G is now in police custody as the investigation continues. 

Known for his work in Tamil cinema, he debuted with Pazhaya Vannarapettai in 2016 and gained fame with the 2020 film Draupathi, despite its controversial nature. His other films include Rudra Thandavam and Bakasuran. Further details regarding his arrest and the case are awaited.
