Film Critic Gets Threatening Call From Actor

Malayalam actor Joju George faced criticism after an audio clip of him threatening a netizen Adarsh HS, went viral. Adarsh had shared a negative review of George’s recent film Pani criticizing its portrayal of sensitive topics like sexual violence. 

George, who directed the film, reacted strongly, calling Adarsh and questioning his opinion, even challenging him by saying, “Do you have the guts to face me?” When Adarsh suggested the film's rape scene was poorly handled, George sarcastically replied, “Please teach me,” and implied that Adarsh would be terrified if he were truly provoked.

As the clip spread many online condemned George’s aggressive response stating Adarsh had a right to express his views. George later addressed the controversy on Instagram explaining he only contacted Adarsh because his review contained spoilers and discouraged viewers from watching the film. He emphasized he did not know Adarsh personally and held no personal grudges.
