Bollywood director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri expressed his concerns about noise pollution from the Mumbai Metro urging authorities to take action. In a social media post directed at Ashwini Bhide Managing Director of the Mumbai Metro Corporation he highlighted the impact of excessive noise levels that surpass permissible decibel limits.
Agnihotri emphasized that the elderly, sick and children are particularly affected facing difficulties with sleep and study. He criticized the Metro Corporation for its indifference to residents' complaints, asking why sound-filtering walls cannot be erected to reduce noise. Agnihotri questioned the balance between development and citizens’ quality of life stressing the need for empathy and responsibility.
He called for better infrastructure that considers people's well-being. While the filmmaker often speaks out on civic issues Bhide has not yet responded. Agnihotri is currently working on his films Parva - An Epic Tale of Dharma and The Delhi Files set for release in 2025.
