Director Smiles While Protesting Against Rape

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri is facing criticism for a video in which he is seen smiling while protesting in Kolkata against the rape and murder of a trainee doctor. 

The video shows him chanting "We want justice" with other protesters. Social media users including actress Swara Bhasker criticized Vivek for his demeanor suggesting he was using the tragic event as a photo opportunity for political gain. 

One user described him as "shameless" while others accused him and his group of exploiting the situation for political purposes rather than genuinely seeking justice.

Vivek known for his outspoken views on social and political issues, defended his actions stating that his participation was meant to inspire others to take to the streets and actively demand chang, rather than just express outrage on social media. He believes that public protests are essential for bringing about real change.
