Debate On RRR Team Ignoring Choreographer Prem Rakshit

Several renowned choreographers and dancer Shakti Mohan convened for a conference on the YouTube channel Nritya Shakti to discuss the lack of recognition choreographers receive.

Bosco Martis highlighted how RRR choreographer Prem Rakshit was overlooked despite the song "Naatu Naatu" winning an Oscar. 

He also stressed the importance of acknowledging the entire team's efforts on such prestigious platforms.

Remo D’Souza echoed Bosco's sentiments by noting the absence of recognition for choreographers even though their work is showcased globally. 

"Naatu Naatu" gained immense popularity even before the release of RRR with notable figures like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan performing its steps at events.

At the Oscars, composer MM Keeravaani and lyricist Chandrabose were honored for the song, but Prem Rakshit, the choreographer, was not acknowledged.

However, at the Golden Globes, Keeravaani emphasized Prem's contribution, acknowledging him along with other collaborators.

Prem Rakshit was absent at the Golden Globes but attended the Oscars with the RRR team and expressed gratitude for the recognition received.

Despite the lack of acknowledgment on certain occasions he appreciated the love and support for RRR and Naatu Naatu.
