American reality TV stars Kim and Khloe Kardashian made a splash at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding in Mumbai wearing glamorous outfits by renowned Indian designer Manish Malhotra. 

Khloe Kardashian shared glimpses of the wedding festivities through Snapchat highlighting the stunning dresses created by Malhotra.

However, a Snapchat story from Khloe stirred controversy. In the video, she referred to Malhotra as a “local designer,” despite his global acclaim. 

She expressed admiration for her Manish Malhotra lehenga, calling it beautiful and noting its vibrant pop-pink color and intricate details. 

Khloe also showed off her Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, which she mentioned was borrowed.

The term “local designer” sparked backlash from viewers who felt it showed a lack of respect for Indian fashion. 

Some criticized Khloe for her apparent ignorance and insensitivity, suggesting she and her team were unaware of Malhotra’s significant reputation in the fashion world.
