Comedian Kunal Kamra trolled actress Kangana Ranaut amid the controversy surrounding her film Emergency.
Kamra sarcastically referred to Kangana as a "psychological thriller" and "queen" on his X handle.
His comments triggered a backlash from Kangana’s fans who defended her and mocked Kamra in return.
The controversy around Emergency Kangana’s directorial debut stems from objections raised by Sikh organizations over the film's portrayal of their community.
The film based on the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had its release stalled by the Censor Board which demanded cuts and factual clarifications.
Initially set for a September 6 release the film's release date has been postponed indefinitely.
Despite the controversies Emergency features a star-studded cast including Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade and Milind Soman. The new release date is yet to be announced.
