Central Government’s Punishment for Southern State

Central Government’s Punishment for Southern State

Tamil actor and TVK leader Vijay has made a strong statement regarding the proposed constituency reorganization in India, expressing concerns over its impact on southern states. He criticized the central government's approach, calling it a "punishment" for the southern region and warning that these states might lose their political influence.

Key Concerns Raised by Vijay

The increase in constituencies in northern states could lead to a significant imbalance in representation.

Southern states, despite their contributions to the nation's economy and development, may face a decline in political power.

Vijay emphasized that reducing the number of constituencies in the south is unacceptable.

All-Party Meeting Led by Stalin

In response to the concerns over the constituency reorganization, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin convened an all-party meeting. Leaders from multiple parties, including the DMK, AIADMK, Congress, and Left parties, participated in the discussion.

Key Highlights of the Meeting

The meeting strongly opposed the BJP-led central government's approach, claiming that Tamil Nadu is being unfairly treated.

Actor-politicians Kamal Haasan and Vijay, along with representatives from over 40 political parties, attended the meeting.

The BJP and TMC, however, remained absent from the discussions.

Vijay's statement and the all-party meeting reflect growing opposition in Tamil Nadu against the constituency reorganization, with regional leaders uniting to challenge the central government's plans.
