Several top Bollywood celebrities including Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Varun Dhawan have shown support for Palestine on Instagram.
This led to a 'boycott Bollywood' trend on X (formerly Twitter) which Pooja Bhatt criticized.
She posted about the trend on her X account highlighting how the industry faces backlash for collectively speaking up about Palestine's situation.
Alia Bhatt re shared a post emphasizing children's right to love, safety, peace and life using the hashtag #AllEyesOnRafah.
Kareena Kapoor also shared a UNICEF post condemning the killing of children and families in Rafah. Varun Dhawan posted the same 'All Eyes on Rafah' image on his Instagram stories.
Other stars like Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Triptii Dimri, Madhuri Dixit, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Dia Mirza and Swara Bhasker have also expressed their solidarity.
Meanwhile Israeli shelling and airstrikes killed at least 37 people in tents outside Rafah, Gaza, according to witnesses and officials.
This area had already suffered deadly strikes in a camp for displaced Palestinians days earlier.
