The domination of South Indian cinema in Bollywood has been evident for some time now. While many have accepted this reality, a few still struggle to come to terms with it, leading to trolling over trivial matters.
Recently, we witnessed Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi making inappropriate remarks about Prabhas, which stirred a lot of controversy. In retaliation, a section of North Indian fans lashed out at Nani for defending Prabhas. Now, another South Indian star has become the target of online trolling, with netizens body-shaming him.
Actor Suriya, during his recent visit to North India to promote his film *Kanguva*, posed for pictures with Bollywood stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani. Some social media users started body-shaming Suriya, pointing out his shorter height compared to the two.
Despite the trolling, Suriya, known for staying away from controversies and being sportingly humble, took it lightly. He even commented on his height, mentioning that acting in battle scenes with Bobby Deol, who is taller, required him to mentally gear up and put in a lot of effort.
Bobby Deol responded to this incident by praising Suriya, saying that although Suriya might be shorter in height, as an actor, he stands head and shoulders above many others.
Hopefully, Bobby Deol's response will encourage netizens to stop the body-shaming comments. Ironically, the same North Indian audience that once praised Suriya for his performance in *Soorarai Pottru* also criticized Akshay Kumar’s portrayal in the film’s Hindi remake.
