BJP MP Kangana Ranaut caused controversy by claiming that the farmers' protests could have led to a crisis similar to that in Bangladesh if the government had not intervened.
In a video posted on social media, she alleged that during the protests there were incidents of violence, including "bodies hanging" and rapes. The protests were against three farm laws that have since been repealed.
In response to Ranaut's statements, the BJP high command clarified that her comments do not reflect the party's views. The party emphasized that her remarks are not aligned with BJP's position on the farmers' movement. They further stated that Ranaut is not authorized to speak on behalf of the party or its policies, indicating a clear disassociation from her controversial statements.
This serves as an indirect warning to Kangana to think twice before giving any political statements.
