Applause Entertainment is set to produce a biopic on former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao, following the announcement of the Bharat Ratna award conferred upon him.
Collaborating with Aha Studio, the film aims to shed light on the life and legacy of this revered statesman.
Titled "Half Lion," the film will delve into the often overlooked yet significant contributions of Narasimha Rao to the development of independent India.
Based on Vinay Sitapati's book of the same name, the series will offer a comprehensive portrayal of his life and achievements.
Renowned National award-winning director Prakash Jha has been chosen to helm the project.
With a track record of exploring socio-political themes in films such as "Gangaajal," "Apaharan," "Rajneeti," and "Aarakshan," as well as the acclaimed drama series "Ashram," Jha brings a wealth of experience to the production.
"Half Lion" is scheduled for release in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil in the latter half of the year.
As anticipation builds for the biopic, the casting of Narasimha Rao remains a subject of speculation.
Several esteemed actors, including Amitabh Bachchan, Naseeruddin Shah, Paresh Rawal, and Anupam Kher, are being considered for the role.
