'Animal' director has to mellow down a bit?

'Animal' director has to mellow down a bit?

Sensational director Sandeep Vanga Reddy has announced that he will begin working with superstar Prabhas on 'Spirit' by the end of this year. However, there are certain considerations he must keep in mind.

"Sandeep needs to avoid explicit and intense romantic scenes, similar to those seen in 'Animal' with Ranbir Kapoor, as Prabhas tends to steer clear of such content in his films," reveals a source.

"In fact, Prabhas didn't feature in any duet songs in his recent release 'Salaar,' despite starring alongside the beautiful Shruti Haasan. Therefore, Sandeep will need to make adjustments in how he portrays love between the protagonists."

Despite being acclaimed for his bold and aggressive filmmaking in 'Animal,' Sandeep is urged to exercise caution with Prabhas.

"He is known for crafting characters who are unapologetically aggressive in pursuing their goals. Vijay Deverakonda's character in 'Arjun Reddy' becomes reckless after losing his love, while Ranbir's character in 'Animal' resorts to violence and illicit affairs to protect his father from enemies," explains the source.

"However, with Prabhas, Sandeep must refrain from portraying such illegal activities and instead depict more conventional and grounded relationships."

Drawing parallels between Sandeep and directors like Ram Gopal Varma and Anurag Kashyap, the source notes their shared fascination with dark and complex characters.

"They excelled in portraying gangsters and eliciting sympathy for their flawed protagonists. Similarly, Sandeep aims to redefine traditional hero archetypes, making them formidable, fearless, and unpredictable," the source reveals.

Following the success of 'Kabir Singh' and 'Animal,' Bollywood will be closely watching Sandeep's next project with Prabhas.

"He must avoid perpetuating toxic masculinity and focus on crafting narratives driven by strong emotions and compelling storytelling to replicate his previous blockbuster success," concludes the source.
