Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan currently hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 16 often shares personal stories on the show. Recently he recalled an incident in London where a shopkeeper sarcastically mentioned a tie’s price as 120 pounds.
In response Amitabh confidently asked the shopkeeper to pack ten of the ties emphasizing the importance of showing Indian pride and confidence in the face of condescension.
Bachchan also shared how he initially hesitated to host KBC. In 2000 after visiting London to watch the taping of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire with Star TV’s Sameer Nair he agreed to host KBC on the flight back. The current season of KBC began airing on August 12, 2023, on Sony TV, and airs weekdays at 9 PM. Amitabh has been the show's host since its inception, except for one season in 2007, hosted by Shah Rukh Khan.
