Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Vettaiyan reunites him with Amitabh Bachchan after their last collaboration in the 1991 film Hum. During the recent audio launch, Amitabh, though not present, sent a recorded message recalling memories with Rajinikanth.
He shared how Rajini would sleep on the floor during breaks while he rested in his air-conditioned vehicle highlighting the superstar's humility. Amitabh was so inspired by Rajinikanth’s simplicity that he chose to rest outside instead. He praised Rajinikanth as the “supreme of all stars” and expressed his honor to be part of Vettaiyan, his first Tamil film.
Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the movie is set to release on October 10, 2024 showcasing Rajinikanth in his iconic cop role. The film features a star-studded cast including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier and others promising to be a major entertainer. Rajinikanth and Amitabh had previously portrayed brothers in Hum directed by Mukul S Anand.
