Ameesha Says No To Mother Roles

Following the success of Gadar and Gadar 2, filmmaker Anil Sharma announced a third installment of the romantic action drama. 

While Gadar 2 continued the story of Tara (Sunny Deol) and Sakina (Ameesha Patel), the third film will also be a follow-up. 

In a recent interview Ameesha Patel firmly stated she would never play a mother-in-law even for the popular Gadar franchise.

Patel explained that while she risked playing a mother in the first two films, she draws the line at playing a mother in law. 

She pointed out that the climax of Gadar 2 did not set up her character's son, Jeete, with a definitive love interest suggesting that the story will continue to focus on Tara and Sakina. 

She stressed that she only played a mother in Gadar because she believed strongly in the script and its execution which led to the film's historical success.

Patel reiterated her stance noting that she took a significant risk 22-23 years ago by playing a mother due to her faith in the film. 

But she clarified that she would not take on similar roles in any other production regardless of the director or hero involved. 

This conviction remains firm highlighting her selective approach to such roles.
