Akshay Kumar is well-known not only for his acting but also for his charitable work. On August 8, he visited Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai with director Mudassar Aziz and donated Rs 1.21 crore for its renovation. This follows his previous donation of Rs 3 crore for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Kumar, who is preparing for the release of his film Khel Khel Mein on Independence Day, also organized a langar outside his home to feed the needy.
The Haji Ali Dargah trust shared a video of his visit on Instagram, thanking him for his donation. The Managing Trustee also prayed for Kumar's late parents. During the 2020 pandemic Akshay Kumar contributed Rs 1 crore to Gautam Gambhir’s foundation and Rs 25 crore to the PM Cares Fund.
In the film industry he has demonstrated generosity by holding his own payment to ensure other crew members were paid when producer Vashu Bhagnani faced issues
