Ajith Kumar has addressed the viral 'Kadavule Ajithey' chants, expressing discomfort with being referred to by this slogan in public spaces. In a statement released by his publicist, Suresh Chandra, on Tuesday, Ajith clarified that he prefers to be called by his name or initials, without any superlatives or prefixes.
He requested that people stop chanting the slogan in public, emphasizing the importance of working hard, respecting others, and being law-abiding citizens. The chant gained popularity after going viral in an interview, and it soon spread across Tamil Nadu.
The word "Kadavule" means "God" in Tamil. Ajith was last seen in Thunivu (2023) and will soon appear in Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly, alongside co-stars Trisha, Arjun Sarja, and others.
