Actor Ssmilly Suri, related to filmmakers Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt recently shared her views on their dispute stating it didn’t affect her since she never saw them as a family.
She also revealed her financial struggles due to lack of work surviving on coffee and bananas, and sometimes going hungry as her savings ran out.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Suri discussed the fallout between Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt noting that it was inevitable and didn’t impact her as she felt like an outsider. She emphasized that family disputes should remain private.
Mukesh Bhatt, along with his brother Mahesh ran Vishesh Films for 30 years. Due to differences, Mukesh took over the company in 2021, with Mahesh stepping down and Mukesh's children, Sakshi and Vishesh Bhatt, joining the management.
Suri also opened up about her financial difficulties, including a time when she had only Rs 2 in her bank account and had to save money by not eating to afford a pole for pole dancing training in Singapore.
During the COVID-19 pandemic she struggled to afford food relying on coffee and bananas leading to weight loss. Her brother Mohit Suri eventually helped by transferring money to her.
Suri debuted in Mahesh Bhatt’s successful film Kalyug but did not receive further film offers.
After a few unsuccessful films, she became a professional pole dancer. Now, she is set to return to showbiz with the film House Of Lies on Zee5.
