Actress Breaks Silence On Rape Threat

Two months after the India’s Got Latent controversy, influencer and actress Apoorva Mukhija shared her first Instagram post, exposing the hate she received. Her post included 20 slides of disturbing rape threats, death threats, and vile abuse following her controversial appearance on the show. 

Apoorva, known as 'The Rebel Kid', had faced legal action and public backlash after making a provocative comment during a panel with Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, and Samay Raina. 

FIRs were filed, and she was even mobbed while meeting Mumbai Police. Apoorva clarified in her statement that the show encouraged unscripted, open dialogue. The online abuse grew so intense that she deleted all her posts and unfollowed everyone on Instagram. 

Her recent post, captioned “And that’s not even 1%,” sheds light on the extreme trolling women face online. She skipped the premiere of her film Naadaaniyaan, indicating continued withdrawal from public events.
