A tragic road accident recently occurred in Vadodara, Gujarat. A speeding car hit five pedestrians in the Karelibagh area, resulting in the death of a woman, while four others sustained serious injuries. The accused, law student Rakshit Chaurasia (20), was allegedly driving at 120 km/h, lost control, and hit pedestrians, according to eyewitnesses.
Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor reacted strongly to this incident on social media, expressing her anger and frustration. She questioned how someone could behave so recklessly, calling the accident horrific and unacceptable, whether the driver was intoxicated or not. Her statement has since gone viral, with many agreeing with her stance.
In response, law student Rakshit Chaurasia defended himself, claiming that he was not drunk at the time of the accident. He explained that his car was ahead of the scooter, and when he took a right turn, he encountered a large pothole, causing him to lose control and hit the scooter. He further stated that the airbag deployed, and he was unaware of what happened next. He insisted that he was driving at 50 km/h and was returning from a Holika Dahan celebration when the accident occurred.
Following the incident, the police arrested Rakshit and are conducting medical tests to determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol.
