Gone are the days when heroes overshadowed villains in terms of importance and paychecks.
In today's cinema, villains play an equally significant role and often steal the spotlight from the heroes.
As a result, the fees commanded by villains have skyrocketed, with the highest-paid antagonist demanding a staggering Rs 150 crore for a single film.
The actor in question is none other than Yash, known for delivering multiple blockbusters and boasting a massive fan base.
He is all set to make his debut as the antagonist in an upcoming movie, for which he has reportedly charged Rs 150 crore.
According to reports, filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari has cast Yash to portray the role of Ravana in his upcoming epic Ramayana.
Alongside Yash, Ranbir Kapoor is set to play Lord Ram, and southern actress Sai Pallavi will portray Sita.
Yash's decision to take on this role marks his entry into Bollywood as an antagonist, and if reports are accurate, his fee of Rs 150 crore makes him the highest-paid villain in Indian cinema.
Yash's fee surpasses that of previous record holders, including Kamal Haasan, who reportedly charged Rs 25 crore for his role as the antagonist in Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD.
Other notable mentions in the realm of highly paid villains include Vijay Sethupathi, who allegedly received Rs 21 crore for his performance in Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, Saif Ali Khan and Emraan Hashmi, both commanding Rs 10 crore for their respective roles in Adipurush and Tiger 3.
Sanjay Dutt reportedly earned Rs 8-9 crore for KGF 2, while Fahadh Faasil is said to be paid Rs 6 crore for Pushpa 2.
