According to trustworthy sources in Chennai, it's been reported that superstar Rajinikanth's 170th film, directed by the young filmmaker T J Gnanavel, will allegedly center around the controversial Byju's scam, which rocked the online education sector.
A source familiar with the matter claims, "Politicians have accused the startup company of being involved in a scam worth hundreds of crores through the distribution of tablets at inflated prices, resulting in significant losses for the public."
Rajinikanth is said to have been drawn to the idea and is keen to deliver a film with a strong social message.
"After exposing Hindu idol smugglers in 'Jailer,' Rajinikanth is once again venturing into a socially relevant film, addressing the scandal that shook the online education industry, which will resonate with his iconic larger-than-life persona," the source adds.
Director Gnanavel, known for his impactful courtroom drama 'Jai Bhim,' which shed light on police brutality against tribal communities and revealed cases of custodial deaths, aims to craft stories inspired by real-life events.
