Allu Arjun's movie, Pushpa 2 has been creating a buzz since its teaser release. Anil Thadani recently bought the North India Distribution rights for a whopping Rs 200 crore setting a new record.
The film directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, has gained immense popularity leading to high demand across various platforms like satellite, digital, and distribution.
Netflix secured the digital rights for Pushpa 2 for a base price of Rs 250 crore potentially reaching Rs 300 crore, making it a groundbreaking deal. It surpasses previous records becoming one of the most anticipated Pan India films.
The agreement includes provisions tied to the film's box office performance, with a base price of Rs 250 crore and bonuses up to Rs 300 crore. This surpasses the previous record holder, RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli.
Pushpa 2 is set to release on August 15, 2024, with Allu Arjun in the lead role. The first installment made Rs 125 crore in the Hindi market despite the COVID-19 pandemic, raising expectations for the sequel.
Featuring music by DSP, along with Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, Pushpa 2 is currently in production and is expected to finish filming by May.
