Ex Minister Smriti Irani Back To Acting?

Ektaa Kapoor has all but confirmed the return of Smriti Irani in the reboot of her legendary show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. At a recent event, while officially announcing a 150-episode reboot, Ektaa teased a big surprise: “We are bringing politics into entertainment, or better, a politician into entertainment” — a clear nod to Smriti Irani, who famously played Tulsi Virani and is now a prominent political figure.

While Ektaa didn’t mention Smriti’s name outright, her comments strongly hint at Irani’s return to the role that made her a household name. Reports had already suggested Smriti and other original cast members were in talks to reprise their roles.

Ektaa also shared that the reboot will run for 150 episodes — a symbolic gesture to complete the original show's nearly 2000-episode run, which ended in 2008.

Meanwhile, casting for Mihir Virani is still underway, with Amar Upadhyay, Cezanne Khan, and Ronit Roy in the mix.
