Telugu actor Vishnu Manchu is playing the titular role in the film 'Kannappa' which is being made with a huge budget of Rs 450 Cr as per the makers.
The major part of the shoot has been taking place in the jungles of New Zealand.
Vishnu Manchu himself is the producer of the film and the story of the film is based on the devotional history at Srikalahasti in Andhra Pradesh.
Kannappa was a devotee of Shiva who is also believed to be the reincarnation of Mahabharata hero Arjuna.
Prabhas has been part of this film since the beginning, though his part is yet to be shot.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar was brought to the sets in Hyderabad where, according to hearsay, he is playing the role of Lord Shiva.
Prabhas, initially considered for the same role, has now been assigned the role of Nandi, according to sources in Hyderabad's film Nagar.
With this new addition of a Bollywood star, the film is surely gaining attention with a pan-India appeal. We need to see what is in store for this film down the line.
Mohanlal, the Malayalam superstar, is also part of this film in a key role. Mukesh Kumar Singh is directing the film.
