In December, a highly anticipated showdown unfolded at the box office between Shah Rukh Khan's "Dunki" and Prabhas's "Salaar," igniting a fierce battle for audience attention.
Despite a one-day gap between their releases, both films impacted each other's business in the long run. Eventually, both emerged victorious, and now we have the numbers to gauge their success.
"Dunki" marked the much-awaited collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and director Rajkumar Hirani. Riding high on the success of his previous films like "Pathaan" and "Jawan," expectations were soaring for his Christmas release.
Despite opening a day earlier than "Salaar" and receiving mixed reviews, the film capitalized on the holiday season, grossing a net of 232 crores at the Indian box office.
On the other hand, "Salaar" marked the debut collaboration between Prabhas and director Prashanth Neel, riding on the success of "KGF Chapter 2." With considerable pre-release buzz and fan excitement, the film surpassed expectations, earning a net of 407 crores despite receiving mixed reviews.
In terms of footfalls, Prabhas's "Salaar" has significantly outpaced Shah Rukh Khan's "Dunki" at the Indian box office.
