Forbes released its 39th Annual World’s Billionaires List on April 1, highlighting a sharp rise in global wealth. Tech mogul Elon Musk remains the world’s richest person, boasting a net worth of $342 billion—an increase of $147 billion from last year. The total wealth of all billionaires on the list has reached a staggering $16.1 trillion.

The United States continues to dominate with 902 billionaires, followed by China (516) and India (205). This year, 288 new billionaires joined the list, including Bruce Springsteen ($1.2B), Arnold Schwarzenegger ($1.1B), and Jerry Seinfeld ($1.1B). Marilyn Simons ($31B), widow of hedge fund legend Jim Simons, is the wealthiest newcomer.

India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, ranks 18th with $92.5 billion, making him the wealthiest Asian. Gautam Adani follows at 28th place with $56.3 billion. The list also includes Chinese billionaires like Zhang Yiming ($65.5B, 23rd, TikTok) and Zhong Shanshan ($57.7B, 26th, Nongfu Spring).

This year’s ranking further highlights the dominance of technology billionaires, with six of the top ten from the sector.
