On April 9, 2025, Dixon Technologies signed a Rs 1,000 crore MoU with the Tamil Nadu government to set up an advanced laptop and PC manufacturing unit at IndoSpace Industrial Park in Oragadam, near Chennai. The agreement supports India's push to strengthen its electronics manufacturing sector through public-private partnerships.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa, and Dixon’s top leadership, including Executive Chairman Sunil Vachani. This new facility is expected to generate 5,000 direct jobs and enhance regional socio-economic growth.
This strategic move highlights Tamil Nadu’s emergence as a key electronics manufacturing hub and Dixon’s commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The investment will expand Dixon’s production capacity to meet growing demand for IT hardware in India and globally, cementing its role in the global electronics supply chain.
