A heated exchange between prominent comedian Kunal Kamra and Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal on social media has caught public attention, coinciding with a significant drop in Ola Electric's share value. Ola Electric recently got listed on the Indian stock market through an IPO, but its shares plummeted 48% recently, and on Monday, it traded at an 8% loss at Rs 90.37 on the NSE.
The controversy started when Kunal Kamra posted on X (formerly Twitter) about customer complaints regarding Ola Electric’s lack of service centers and poor servicing. Kamra claimed that customers were frustrated with the company’s service, leading Bhavish Aggarwal to respond sharply. Aggarwal sarcastically offered Kamra a job at Ola's service stations, claiming it would pay him more than his comedy shows. Kamra shot back, challenging Aggarwal to issue full refunds to unsatisfied customers.
The spat has sparked mixed reactions from netizens. Some criticized Bhavish Aggarwal for engaging in a public argument with a comedian instead of addressing customer concerns. Others supported the CEO, suggesting that posts from individuals like Kamra shouldn’t be taken seriously. The back-and-forth has drawn further attention to Ola Electric’s customer service issues amid the company’s stock struggles.
