In a holiday-shortened trading week, five of India’s top ten valued companies gained a total market valuation of Rs 84,559.01 crore, even though key indices like the Sensex and Nifty posted slight losses. The BSE Sensex slipped by 207.43 points (0.27 percent), while the NSE Nifty dipped 75.9 points (0.33 percent). Markets remained closed on Thursday for Shri Mahavir Jayanti.
Hindustan Unilever led the gains, adding Rs 28,700.26 crore to reach a valuation of Rs 5,56,054.27 crore. Reliance Industries followed with an increase of Rs 19,757.27 crore, taking its market cap to Rs 16,50,002.23 crore. ITC, Bajaj Finance, and Bharti Airtel also recorded healthy gains of Rs 15,329.79 crore, Rs 12,760.23 crore, and Rs 8,011.46 crore, respectively.
Meanwhile, HDFC Bank, TCS, ICICI Bank, SBI, and Infosys saw declines in their valuations, with TCS losing the most at Rs 24,295.46 crore.
