Govt Warns Against Public USB Charging Ports

Nothing is safe in this digital world. Nothing is private in this Wi-Fi-enabled society.

We all appreciate the convenience of charging stations and portable wall chargers in public places.

However, using them can pose risks of hacking and compromising our mobile phones.

In this scenario, the government cybersecurity advisers recommend:

-To avoid public chargers and instead carry a personal cable or power bank. 

-If using a public port is unavoidable, one should lock the device and disable pairing with other connected devices. 

-Another precaution is to charge the phone only when it's switched off.
